Goliath From Gargoyles Custom Vinylmation

I recently finished this custom three inch vinylmation as a birthday gift for someone rather special.

I used a toy dragon (shown in some of the pictures) in order go get the parts for the wings, horns, and tail. I did smooth out the tail so that it would match Goliath's. He also has actual fuzzy long hair. This is the first vinyl I have tried to put shading on (the clouds, the folds of his loincloth, face and arms).  I honestly have no idea how long he took me to create but I know it was definitely over 20 hours.

Enjoy!

My Cruella De Ville Repaint

I decided to play around with the design on Cruella de Ville, so I repainted her! I changed the dress color, added a metallic green inside to her coat and of course gave her a fur coat with dalmatian trim! My design is on the left while the original is pictured on the right. I hope you enjoy!

Location Vinylmation

I love that they make special vinyls for major cities with Disney Stores!

New York

Interesting, I think I like the Statue of Liberty Minnie more. This seems a bit generic.

I love the tin! I also really like Mickey in the back seat!

San Francisco

Oh this is kinda cute. I love the Mickey head detail.

This is really pretty! I love how it's like night and day!

London

Cute, but why is the same image in each of the windows? Unless it is like you are looking out each window as if you were on each level instead of looking out the windows from afar?

This is kinda cool!

Vinylmation Bakery

Bluntly, I was very much worried when I saw the sneak peek photos of the Bakery series on the official Vinylmation blog:

I was worried mostly because, as you all know, I am very much against changing the original form in order to adapt it to a concept. Accessories are great, just don't change the actual form. So I was very very happy when I saw this:

Now all is right with the world! Plus these are from the original mold; no five-piece body and missing nose!

Plus I love the open box packaging!

Here are the last five of the series with and without their frosting:

Minnie, Cute as always!  I love the frosting for her, though she seems a bit naked without the frosting. Then again, in the older cartoons she only wore a skirt so maybe this isn't that naked for her.

Marie has the most adorable cupcake cup! She is just adorable, though I her face in the Animation series over this one,  it was just a bit happier.

The Cheshire Cat has awesome frosting, you just can't get away from those infamous pink stripes!

Tinkerbell: well, it is hard to create a dainty pixie on such a rounded form. It is cute but I think if you made her eyes a bit bigger it would make her seem a touch slimmer. And why is her hair tie so far away from her bun?

Ok my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE IN THIS SERIES: Mickey with icing on his face! I just think this one is so cure an funny. Perfectly captured that shocked look on his face whenever something odd happens! Plus I love his frosting with the Mickey sprinkles! It almost makes me want this instead of a birthday cake... almost!

Please Let It Not Be True!!

The Sea Creatures have been out for a while now and I have found their new vinyl form to be rather lacking. For one they hacked the Mickey form into three parts!!!!! I suppose I understand it from the perspective of trying to reduce the odd paint buildup in some of the creases on the older form, but I am entirely opposed to any collectable vinyl lines changing their base form. In an art form that is based on creating designs working with a set form, it's kind of like cheating... especially on the lobster where they re-sculpted his hands:

Secondly, and most important, THEY GOT RID OF MICKEY'S NOSE!! Why oh why did you get rid of the nose??? On the Sea Creatures I could handle it but, this same form is being used for the Pirates of the Caribbean (one of my all time favorite movies). Now those beloved pirates just look like they have chubby faces and no nose!
The chubby pirates
I'm so sorry Captain Jack Sparrow!!
I just hope that the designers come to their senses and give us back our Mickey noses! It takes so much of the definition away! Plus they may never have come up with great designs using that little bump of a nose such as:

So many great designs use that lovable nose for inspiration! And if the design doesn't need the nose, paint over it as if it weren't there.

I just hope that they won't make these changes on the Do-It-Yourself vinyls.

New Designs Revealed! Occupations, Epcot Designs, Urban 6 Combo.

Many new and exciting designs have just been released on The Official Disney Vinylmation Blog!!!

So to start it off:

Occupations
There are 10 different occupations (I assume they are open boxed like the sports vinyls) and they have three randomly selected Jr.s ! They show about 31 different designs of the Jr.s and the ten 3 inch designs here.  The following are a few images that have been previously released with the corresponding Jr.s. Unfortunately, because the Jr.s are random, you may not get the corresponding Jr.s.

Epcot Designs

Ahhh, don't we all have fond memories of the 2000  and Sorcerer Mickey arm and wand on Spaceship Earth? Definitely a MUST HAVE!! Unfortunately no word on whether it is a three inch or nine inch design. Though, if you look carefully at the arm shape and compare it to the nine inch design below, it looks like this is a three inch design...just my thoughts.

A nod to the Kitchen Kabaret Show!!!

The new nine inch design for the Land Pavilion!! God they have good food there!

Urban 6 Combo

They announced that there will be a combo pack and we are uncertain as to what the figure shall be but they did release the official picture of one of the figures in the set...
I'd rather not scar you with this next picture so I have decided to just add a link to the picture...Click if you dare...Urban 6 Figure

...Yes, that is a sumo wrestler...
