Upcoming 9” Viking, Gum Ball Machine, Midway Mania, Earful Tower. Plus Urban 6 Chaser!

Recently, the Disney Vinylmation Blog has released the nine inch designs that inspired the newest Ear Hats. I personally prefer the designs of the three inch figures with the hats more than the nine inch designs that inspired them. For instance, I definitely like "after" 3" vinyl included with the gum ball machine hat more than the "before" 3" vinyl here. Also, I think the 3" viking that comes with the hat is much cuter than this three inch one, though some people may not want "cute" mixed with their feared warriors and ransackers like me. Don't get me wrong, I love vikings and Norse mythology but, for some reason this one just isn't doin' it for me.

Also, the designs for Toy Story Midway Mania and The Earful Tower have been released! Perfect for any Hollywood Studios lover!! I love the Earful Tower and really hope that they have a great and colorful design on the back of Toy Story Mania to not only compliment the calm colors on the front but to also better represent the appearance and experience of the ride.

Also announced was the release dates for the remaining nine inch Animation vinyls.  Willie the Whale and Hycacinth Hippo are scheduled for late spring (although I have heard some people already have these) and Bolt and Merlin are scheduled for the fall.

And now.... The moment you have all been waiting for: The Urban 6 Chaser!
I think someone over at Disney Design Group really really really loves Runaway Brain, especially considering that they are releasing a nine inch/ Jr. combo for the Villains series. I don't know if I truly get the appeal...

Park 6, Urban 6, Tron, New Ear Hats Bubble Gum Machine and Viking!!!

Recently, Disney released the Park 6, Urban 6, Tron, and new Ear Hat designs!! Unfortunately, until the release of the series, the chaser will not be revealed. But here is a collection of all of the photos in one place for your ease of viewing!

Park 6

Perfect for those of you who were able to get the limited edition nine inch Disney Cruise Vinyls... Gotta be safe!!
Oh, I do love this ride!! Remember that game Mouse Trap? Well, I never really got to play it since I never owned it and the one friend I had who had it didn't like setting it up. But this ride is a non scary version of what I think it would be like to be a mouse in Mouse Trap... only without the trapping part.
LOVE! I really like this design!
Yay Adventure Land!
Absolute Must HAVE! The signs on Disney Property are AWESOME!
Ahh the memories... No, I never messed with anything that was labeled "Wet Paint"  but, I have always liked the cute Wet Paint Signs.
I love Epcot...but not my favorite...

Urban 6

I believe you all already know my opinion on this...
Kinda cute, not a must have, but not a bad one to get from the blind trading boxes....
Cute, but the pin is cuter. If it were based on Beaches 'N' Cream at  Beach Club I would definitely need it!
Ummm, sorry, I'm not a fan of crying babies.

The picture of the following is not available on the Disney Blog yet so a picture of the pin will have to stand in for the figure
I get what they were going for but it just seems creepy... probably good for Halloween decorations...darn now I want the Green Thumb because its like a zombie thumb!!
I like the clear arm/wings but I think they could have made it cuter, especially since it's supposed to be a queen bee.
I get the concept but it didn't work too well on the 3D figure. The pin is kinda cute though!
Emoticons and other internet spawned abbreviations are over done, and that is coming from someone who is grew up with computers and these abbreviations... So if I wasn't so sick of seeing this plastered all over everything trying to make it look "hip" and young (which by the way, we don't use "hip" when describing cool stuff) I would like it! I mean it is orange, my least favorite color, but well done. I actually like how she put the winking emoticon as the face on this figure. Ok, rant over, we can move onto the next few topics.

Tron
Haven't seen the movie yet (yes I know, I know, I want to. Just haven't had the time yet) so I really can't comment too much  on the accuracy of these or the items from the movie chosen. But enjoy!!

Without seeing the movie, this is my favorite so far from this series!

New Ear Hats!!!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I really hope that the ears are clear little compartments with little fake gum balls rolling around in them. Plus, I really like the vinylmation figure that goes with it! Super cute idea with the guest wearing an ear hat and the classic exploded bubble gum bubble.

Kinda cute. I like the hat and the vinylmation viking is kinda cute. It doesn't appeal to me the way the bubble gum one does though.

New Disney Vacation Club Vinylmation Designs in the Making!!

So I was flipping through the latest issue of Disney Files Magazine, the DVC members only magazine, and found an interesting article on Vinylmation!
This is the cover of the issue. It is Spring 2011 Vol. 20 No. 1
And here I included a scan of the article in the original size so that you may be able to read it. Mostly an introduction to this collectable but the information I am referring to is in the fourth to last paragraph.

""The second release in the series plays with the idea of Members having a key to Disney, while a third features a white picket fence.",  Stephen explained. "Both celebrate the idea that, for Disney Vacation Club Members, resorts aren't just places to visit, but are places to call home. Our artists are having a lot of fun with that inspiration.""

It also goes on to explain that the only way of purchasing the DVC exclusive vinyls is by presenting your membership card to the cast member when purchasing it but, that is the norm on all DVC exclusive merchandise. For that matter the norm on Annual Pass Holder exclusives, DVC exclusives, D23 exclusives, etc. I get the rules... it's just sometimes I'd like it if the rules were broken just for me... meh oh well...

Anyway, here is the article for those interested in reading it! I know this is rather small, but if you click on the image, it will take you to a page with just the image. Then all you need to do is zoom in so that it is close to the original size and a bit more legible! Enjoy!

New Designs Revealed! Occupations, Epcot Designs, Urban 6 Combo.

Many new and exciting designs have just been released on The Official Disney Vinylmation Blog!!!

So to start it off:

Occupations
There are 10 different occupations (I assume they are open boxed like the sports vinyls) and they have three randomly selected Jr.s ! They show about 31 different designs of the Jr.s and the ten 3 inch designs here.  The following are a few images that have been previously released with the corresponding Jr.s. Unfortunately, because the Jr.s are random, you may not get the corresponding Jr.s.

Epcot Designs

Ahhh, don't we all have fond memories of the 2000  and Sorcerer Mickey arm and wand on Spaceship Earth? Definitely a MUST HAVE!! Unfortunately no word on whether it is a three inch or nine inch design. Though, if you look carefully at the arm shape and compare it to the nine inch design below, it looks like this is a three inch design...just my thoughts.

A nod to the Kitchen Kabaret Show!!!

The new nine inch design for the Land Pavilion!! God they have good food there!

Urban 6 Combo

They announced that there will be a combo pack and we are uncertain as to what the figure shall be but they did release the official picture of one of the figures in the set...
I'd rather not scar you with this next picture so I have decided to just add a link to the picture...Click if you dare...Urban 6 Figure

...Yes, that is a sumo wrestler...

The first set of Disney Afternoon vinyls came out today on DisneyStore.com. Though many of us were waiting until it was midnight in California for the website up date they did not get added until midday (March 2).  Still very excited to see Baloo and Kit in person!

Others sets that will be released are:
-Scrooge and Launchpad (Duck Tales)
-Darkwing Duck and Gosselin
-Goofy and Max (Goof Troop)
-Chip and Dale (Rescue Rangers)

Thank you Christopher for designing these AWESOME vinyls and their packaging! ( I do love the packaging design!)

I'd have to say that I am most excited for the Ducktales and Darkwing Duck sets!!

Disney Villains Nine Inch Sets

These are brand new and are nine inch/jr sets. I think Jumba with Stitch and Julius with Mickey came out the best (Julius is the monster in Runaway Brain short). I think Aurora may have turned out well but unfortunately Maleficent is a touch too green when they executed the project...She looks like Elphaba from Wicked. Unfortunately, as much as I LOVED the three inch set, I am not in love with these nine inch sets and do not plan on buying them...I guess that's good news for my wallet...I guess...

For those of you who do like these designs and wish to purchase them ($59.95 each), they will be released March 21st on DisneyStore.com. And that means at any time during the day as learned from with our experience with the Talespin set. The Disney Stores that will carry the nine inch Villains are:

  • Stockton Street, San Fransico, California
  • Mission Viejo, California
  • Cherry Hill, California
  • Fashion Valley, California
  • Montebello, California
  • Santa Monica, California
  • International Plaza, Florida
  • State Street, Illinois
  • North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois
  • Freehold, New Jersey
  • Times Square, New York
  • Roosevelt Field, New York
  • Northpark, Texas

These are what were listed on the official Disney Vinylmation Blog, please check their official blog for any changes in this list prior to their release.
